Con chocolates
Jun. 2nd, 2006 02:32 pmLast year, I made a post with pictures about the chocolates I brought to C-ACE's opening ceremonies social. A quick glance and memory tells me it was about 200 chocolates.
My first estimate for this year (though close as I need to order very soon) comes in at around 165 chocolates.
That's not counting all the NEW local chocolatiers I need to visit and... test. I do have some exacting standards.
New flavour this year: Masala, from Miss Chocolat. Dark and milk chocolate ganache infused with Masala curry, coconut milk and coconut bits. I dislike coconut and I can't taste any in it, so it's really nicely blended. I describe it as biting into a Thai restaurant. I'm serious. Everyone who tried it agreed. (One hates coconut and took a piece by mistake and couldn't tell; she loved it too.)
I'm making sure to get some handmade Sugarless selections too, made with Maltitol.
Yes, the goat cheese will make a comeback. (Heather, I'll make sure to have a whole raspberry one for you. ;)) So will the Strawberry and Tarragon, which was a success last year.
And plenty of those Perfect Caramels. Anyone at the Ad Astra party knows what I'm talking about. :)
And probably new stuff I don't know about because I haven't called mypushers purveyors yet.
Yum.
