Jan. 4th, 2011 07:17 pmEDIT: New date, a week later, there was conflict
I'm organising two tastings at my place in the near future. Since they're of very limited interest among my local friends, this should keep it small enough that I can do them in my apartment.
First up, later this month, will be stouts and porters I picked up recently, half from the winter availability at the LCBO and half at La Trappe à Fromage, though I'm likely to try to get to BroueHaHa to see what they have that's interesting and unusual. (No, no Guinness, since outside of Ireland it isn't real Guinness anyway.)
Second, likely in early February, will be another round of interesting-sounding sakés from the Vintages at Rideau and King Edward - seems someone over there actually know what they're ordering. All bottles I picked up have a reasonably fresh label date - either March or September 2010.
So thetentative confirmed date for the Stout Tasting will be Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 7pm. Make sure to have eaten beforehand. This is the current list, though one or two may be added until then to round things out:
Comment if interested,as well if you want it in mid-afternoon (2-3pm) or early evening (7pm). Small portions will be served, but these can pack quite a kick.
